In a bid to reach out to the underprivileged, a group
of doctors working in different hospital have decided to cut down
treatment charges by half.
About 40 doctors joined hands to formulate
a Noble Doctors Scheme, which aims at making quality health care
affordable for the common man.
Exlaining the scheme, Hisamuddin Papa,
Director of Huma Specialists Hospital and Research Centre, Nandanam,
said as a first step, his hospital would provide treatment for patients
at half the rates charged by other medical centres.
"We will
also crusade against doctors being made responsible for consequences
suffered by patients due to undiagnosable complications." he
said. Such cases must be dealt individually rather than in a sweeping
manner and penalising the doctors.
